I can confirm this issue with the following versions:

openSUSE Leap 42.1
GNOME 3.16.4
Evolution 3.16.5

Switching to IPv4 address notation (and accepting the SSL cert warning) fixes
the read only issue (tested after multiple restarts).

Any other aspects to test perhaps?
