I still have no idea why we are still using HTTP for online updates from OpenSuse Update Repositories and all other repositories. When a search of locating 'community repositories' the data needs to default to FTP and never use http Similarly our own openSuse update repositories should default to FTP not HTTP. The value in using FTP over HTTP is that the file integrity is maintained and checked - no need for checksums. When downloading a complete new version of opensuse this should be FTP as well for the exact same reasons as guaranteeing the Files Integrity - Suggest we change the opensuse site to offer FTP in liu of HTTP and that in 12.2 repositories are auto configured as ftp transfer, not http -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
