just rebooted the machine (with the lacking public ipv6 assignment) and checking those sysctl files. this machine has these two lines: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding = 0 /etc/sysctl.conf lines 1-24/24 (END) and nothing in /etc/sysctl.d/ directory.
