Absolutely fantastic work Takashi! I removed the blacklist from
/etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf , installed the new kernel
[3.17.2-2.g3788128-desktop] and restarted, it works perfectly well! I didn't
even need to do an rfkill unblock.
