I worry it make UI just more complex. Do you have any data how useful it will be for users and how many of them need such functionality? I have to say that from my POV that unless you are tester, journalist or experimenter, then you have at most two OS installed, so it is not needed. I also see another drawback. For large server installation we disable by default os_prober because it took too much time, but to get such list of OSes we need to run it, so in the end it again slow down installation. ( for big server with more then 1000 disks, it took several hours to inspect all disks ) So as I said I am not against it, but it make UI more complex and require non-trivial changes in code, so I need some data from users, that it make sense to put work into it and also to maintain it.
