After more playing around, I discovered that if I type dolphin into the run
command (alt-F2) I get two results, the reg dolphin icon and a run dolphin
exe/bin icon (the gear icon with the right facing triangle in the center).
The dolphin icon launces the Documents folder while the run command launches
the home folder. If I start the suse menu and type dolphin into the search
field, clicking on the result opens my home folder.
For more fun, I created a panel applet from the search result of dolphin from
the suse menu and the applet opens my home folder.
If I choose dolphin from my favorites menu, it launches the Documents folder.
