If you type an accented character, e.g. � � � �, or just the accent itself ' ` ^ in the password slot, SDDM freezes. This is a pain for me since I tend to use these characters in my passwords (so far, it's the only way I've found to have strong passwords that I can remember). Checking with Google, this bug seems to have been reported and recently solved in Mageia: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18822
