On Tumbleweed when using `sudo zypper dup` I get download speeds around 4 MiB/s. While that might be ok for many internet connections, mine is capable of around 20 MiB/s and I'd like to make use of that so upgrading the system takes less time. I learned that the default download.opensuse.org server is doing the selection of a mirror. I suggest to also take things like download speed into consideration, not only proximity or ping. Probably filed under the wrong component, but I did not find a better one.
