Thanks for all the input.

Unfortunately I'm getting old and cannot remember anymore why I decided at some
point to include the dictionary files like this. And inbetween it worked more
or less with very few exceptions so I never looked into that thing again.
Meanwhile (at least w/o diving into it deeply) I think that indeed the actual
dictionaries should be used directly.

I'm going to look at it but not with high priority.
