Please test package from 
http://software.opensuse.org//download.html?project=home%3Aembar-%3Abranches%3AEducation&package=tuxguitar
Compared to tuxguitar 1.2, export into PDF will not work.
If it works for you as expected ��� package can go into Education repo or even
into Tumbleweed.

Becides, you can download compiled version from 
https://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxguitar/files/
Upstream version is not stripped, i.e. have all plugins (including for
exporting into PDF) and soundfont
