Isn't the old ioctl (issued by scsi_id) supposed to be emulated by the kernel
and have the "NVMe" prefix added at least ?

In any case the new rule must give the same result as the new one.

You said that was possible with the sysfs attributes but if this cannot be
fixed I'm afraid we must restore *both* the old udev rule and the SCSI
emulation layer for NVMe device in the kernel. And this for all supported
distros.
