No, that change is in both 42.2 and 42.3. (Vince v4.2 kernel).

And this, from the initial Comment#0, seems to indicate its not a bug in the
driver code:

i.e. unloading then re-loading the driver fixes the issue?

Hannes is the maintainer of aic7xxx. It looks like no changes in that driver
between 42.2 and 42.3.
