Right.
I have no idea either at the moment.

Maybe just declare the switch as unsupported finally, and mention on the Wiki
page that one should deinstall the driver first before switching to a different
version? (then this whole bug report could be closed as WONTFIX I suppose)

The Wiki page still doesn't even mention G04 yet, btw, nor offers an 1-click
install... 
Should I file another bug report about this? Or how is this handled?
