Maybe one additional comment on this really annoying bug on notebooks with
external monitor connected:

konsole only disappears, when the window was once put on the external screen.
If you keep konsole window on the notebook screen, it does not disappear. But
it does not help to put it back to the notebook screen before disconnecting the
external monitor. If it was some when put on the external screen, it will
disappear.

The process of konsole is still running, konsole "beeps" are still shown in the
kde information system, but even "wmctrl -l" does not see them anymore.
