It appears that Leap15 has console blanking disabled by default, in comparison to.e.g. Leap42.3 and older versions. "/sys/module/kernel/parameters/consoleblank" contains 0, meaning blanking is disabled. I see this can be changed at boot time with kernel argument 'consoleblank=xx', or with 'setterm --blank' later on. There must be a default setting somewhere too?
