The version 1.4.0 of gtk3-engine-oxygen and gtk3-theme-oxygen is a bit broken. E.g. when you try to check a checkbox, the checkmark is not visible. The gtk2 version of the themes is already available in 1.4.5, so an upgrade of the gtk3 theme to that version (or higher) might help.
