On a hunch, could you please try upgrading to packages of cairo (you will need
libcairo2 and libcairo-gobject2) from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/badshah400:/boo918972/openSUSE_13.2/
and see if it fixes your issue? I am assuming you are on 13.2 from the versions
of the packages you have installed. If this fixes your problem, then it stems
from
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=918972
and is likely unrelated to this particular bug.
