Well, you reported it against "KDE (Workspace)"... ;-)

Hm, I still don't understand what "the display is being started" means.

Can you try to press ESC and see what happens on the screen?
Or if that has no effect, add "plymouth.enable=0" to the boot options (press
'e' at the boot menu and append that to the line starting with "linux" or
"linuxefi", or add it in YaST->System->Boot Loader->Kernel Parameters.
