Sorry I misread your instructions. I have now installed kernel-firmware version 20190118-248.1 from the Kernel:HEAD repo and then installed kernel-default package version 4.12.14-lp150.12.45.1 from openSUSE-Leap-15.0-Update repo. My system now boots up correctly. Thank you for your assistance.
