zypper-1.14.71 no longer tries to refresh any repository data for non-root users. It will just print some stats about age and availability of metadata. > Repository : Time since last refresh > packman : 1 h 21 min > repo-backports-update : No metadata available! Skipping it! > repo-non-oss : 1 h 21 min > repo-oss : 1 h 21 min > repo-sle-update : 1 h 21 min > repo-update : 2 s > repo-update-non-oss : 1 h 21 min > > Note: Running with user privileges. From time to time run > 'zypper refresh' as root to make sure the repository metadata > are complete and up-to-date. Note: This applies only to the systems repositories (root=/). If one created a root as user, it is still possible to add and refresh repos therein.
