Sorry, I confused your issue with a different one that I am working on. The issue of ownership of shared file systems is partially resolved. If the share is automounted, it will always be owned by root. Oracle still has to fix that part; however, using the UID and GID options for the share will work whether the share is mounted using the mount command, or if it is mounted via /etc/fstab in the manner your writeup uses. I tested both methods using a VM created using Leap 15.3 Build 117.13. This VM has an XFCE desktop, but others should be the same. I repeated the test with a fully updated TW KDE VM. Both methods worked there as well. The /proc/mounts entry does not mention the UID or GID, but the permissions shown by 'ls -l /mnt' are all set to the the requested owner. I could create and delete files on the share. The only difference I see between your system and mine is that my host is a fully updated TW system. I'm not sure what to do next.
