Forgot to say:
- memtest86+ ran without problems for several cycles (once the laptop is booted
into Classic BIOS modes, for obvious reason).

RAM corruption is thus very unlikely

Cron jobs also run periodic SMART tests (nightly shorts, weekly long) and btrfs
scrubs (weekly, too).
Data /filesystem corrupt is very unlikely to go unnoticed, even prior to the
RPM database compare.


Appart from aging component on the Mobo or on the power supply, I can't manage
to see where the problem could coming from.
