Ever since I upgraded my system to libinput 1.9.x (tumbleweed), when I would put my laptop (HP Elitebook 8470p) into the docking station, both the internal and external keyboards wouldn't work until I undock the laptop again. Compiling 1.8.4 and downgrading to my own package fixed the issue. I therefore assume that libinput is actually the culprit.
