The original Raspberry Pi 1 and Zero models used a PL011 UART (ttyAMA0), but the Zero W has Bluetooth on that port and - like Raspberry Pi 3 - requires the 8250 Synopsis UART driver. Symptoms: no ttyS*, serial console not available Workaround: use HDMI with console=tty1
