Overall, initial window sizes and font sizes have been massively improved, if not completely fixed, as of 42.1, and remain so in TW20180410 and latest 15.0Beta. I checked in TW with Plasma and IceWM @144 DPI, 15.0 Beta with TDE @144 & 168 DPI, 42.2 with KDE3 @168 DPI, and 42.1 with KDE3 @144 DPI. Presumably XFCE and LXDE/LXQt, which I don't use, are similarly improved, making this WFM if not completely FIXED.
