I installed eric IDE for evaluation from the openSUSE Tumbleweed main repository (2022-11-18) but it failed with errors on attempts to start. I reported the problem (with error log) to the eric developers and received a reply to state that this version (eric6) was obsolete and suggested I install the latest version (eric7) from their web site. Version on repository: eric6 2.11-2.4
