Comment # 49 on bug 1193063 from Takashi Iwai

Please check the contents of
/sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save_controller.  It should be 'N'
(or '0').  If not, someone (likely a power-management daemon of your desktop
environment) adjusted it to a different value than the initial one.
