at the time this issue happened i was on the bugzilla website for opensuse. after logging out of this site, for some strange reason my bookmarks were disabled. i can still use the search bar to use websites. before i reset default settings for firefox i did a journalctl -a to see if i could get the errors involved with firefox at the time.
