I do not think that there is a good reason to close this bug yet. I think we
should look into this a bit more, gather facts and perhaps test results and
then make an informed decision.

I understand what Maciej is saying and guess that he is right. I would like to
do more than guess when deciding such a major change.

This feature was added eons ago when we were selling desktops - back then we
needed to really warn the user about losing all their data, etc. I assume that
these days this warning is not necessary, especially when you consider that in
many use cases of our users center around virtualization.
