I see what you mean now...

I confirm that I can see the bridging interfaces and can sellect them as
intended when I select on of the following in: the eth interfaces Edit -->
General window:
At Boot Time --> STARTMODE='auto'
On Hotplug   --> STARTMODE='hotplug'

In both cases Yast keeps the configuration as intended when revisiting it in
Yast.

Thanks again for the explanation and I agree with your proposed course of
action.
