Stephan Kulow responded that it freezes up mostly because the changelog of the
kernels on leap is 74547 lines dating back to 2009 listing every commit done
since then.

Is it really necessary that the user require change logs dating back to 2009?
It's just slowing down the system. If someone really wants to read the entire
changelogs, can we not put them elsewhere?

Why not keep the changelogs for the last 2 or 3 distro releases?
