With Leap 42.3 and 42.2, when I log in as my normal (non-root) user,
approximately 1 time in 2 the kde login session only gets as far as having a
movable mouse; i.e. I don't get a toolbar or desktop folder or any mouse button
actions. To workaround I do ctrl-alt-F1, log in as root, 'telinit 3', and
'telinit 5', and log in again; this sometimes results in a viable kde session.
I get the following in /var/log/kdm.log:
