During the graphical installation of 13.2RC1 on my old laptop, something went
awry when it was trying to configure the bootloader. I noticed an error message
which included some text "opensuse grub unexpected eof while looking for
matching '". I was able to continue and restart the machine when necessary, but
on the first boot it wouldn't load.

I went into the Rescue System with the DVD and edited the grub.cfg file. It
contained the following incorrect line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" resume=/dev/sda6 splash=silent quiet
elevator='missing showopts"

I couldn't understand what the 'elevator' argument was so I merely removed the
apostrophe after the equals sign. That got it to boot after I pressed a key
because it threw an error message about missing showopts. From the running
system I then suspected the part "elevator='missing" might have been put in
there incorrectly so I removed it all and it now boots normally.

FYI, I'd opted to leave the bootloader installation in an extended partition,
despite the warning in red text it gave me that this could cause boot problems.
(Because it's how I've always had it configured by default on previous
installations).
