After upgrading to 27.1, my configuration did not work anymore and I could not load many packages eg. org mode. Additionally, there was console output with messages of every package being loaded. Googling I arrived to: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63527302/emacs-package-management-failure-in-emacs-27-1 Especially: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63527302/emacs-package-management-failure-in-emacs-27-1#comment112448898_63590001 which described my problem exactly. Once I called emacs-gtk directly, or emacs-gtk -nw for console, everything works ok.
