Yes, but as those do not contain any translations in their .desktop files at
all, it also doesn't make sense to strip them.

Or are those translations in desktop-translations?
Then it probably would be a good idea to investigate why KDE doesn't read the
translations for the wallpapers from there and try to fix that if possible...
