Thanks. The diff between them shows that 4.4 kernel leaves power_save=0, i.e. it doesn't enable the power saving as default. Try to create /etc/modprobe.d/60-hda-powersave.conf containing the following: options snd-hda-intel power_save=0 Then the issue will be likely gone with Leap 15.0 kernel, too.
