Comment # 2 on bug 1224819 from Aaron Williams

The electronics repository is stuck at 7 but with libraries at 8 and is not
usable in this state. I have built 8 on OpenSUSE 15.5; however, it also
required me to build my own copy of wxWidgets due to incompatibilities with the
provided versions. I can provide some guidance on building it if he needs help.
I am happily using 8, but I had to build and install my own copy of wxWidgets
(under ${HOME}/.local and wxPython compatible with Python 3.11 since 3.6 is
incompatible with Kicad.
