Hm, haven't noticed this yet...

Well, restoring the old behavour is next to impossible (without restoring
XEmbed support in the system tray, which has been decided against years ago
already).

The problem is that the applications fully control the old-style "icons", the
system tray has no control at all. (old-style icons are actually application
windows that only get embedded into the system tray)

And that won't work in Wayland anyway.

xembedsniproxy is a hack (it's a proxy between the applications and the system
tray) to make them display at all.

But thanks for your confirmation, I'll submit an update as soon as the requests
to the devel projects are accepted (they are in "waiting mode" currently until
already pending changes make it into TW and 42.3).
