The Icecast project is part of the Xiph.org foundation. We publish among other things the Icecast multimedia streaming server, libSHOUT and IceS. To offer our users the option of obtaining ready to use binary and source packages we started using the openSUSE OBS instance two years ago. Currently the official icecast.org packages for the Icecast server are located in "home:dm8tbr". This is not ideal, as it is my private home project and confuses end users. Thus we'd like to kindly request a project outside the home: namespace. I couldn't find a documentation of openSUSE OBS namespaces, but it was suggested on IRC that "isv:" might be suitable. Note though, that we are not an commercial ISV, we're just an open source project. Note: We don't maintain the openSUSE packaging of Icecast project software packages, but if there is interest, we'd be happy to collaborate. We're already reusing most of the openSUSE RPM spec in our Icecast server package. If a project outside "home:" is not possible, then we might set up our own OBS. If that should be necessary, please advise about the correct way to interface with openSUSE OBS, as last time I did maintain an OBS instance it was OBS-links and not very reliable.
