When installing openSUSE Kubic on a machine that has a WiFi card on board (using openSUSE-Kubic-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20190506-Media.iso), I get the following error in Installation Settings step: "These packages need to be selected to install: wpa_supplicant Please manually select the needed items to install." And installation will not allow me to skip this check. However, I cannot figure out how to either a) install wpa_supplicant As far as I can tell it is not included in the microos repository, and I also don't see an option to add an additional repo b) ignore the error -- I don't intend to use the WiFi card so I don't care if it works or not Workaround: - go through installation steps, including Network Settings setup once (so I can set the static IP and DNS settings for the Ethernet card) - now, installation cannot be completed due to missing wpa_supplicant - abort installation - start installation again - observe that static IP and DNS settings are remembered - do not enter Network Configuration again the wpa_supplicant will again block installation, if the network config is entered once, even when no changes are done Presumably, another workaround would be to disable the WiFi card in BIOS setup. I think there are a few things that could be improved in the installer: - wpa_supplicant should either be included in the ISO or it should never be required in such a way that it blocks installation. - Is it possible in the Kubic installer to add additional repos? I could not find a way to do so. If it is possible, perhaps the UI or documentation could be improved. - While it is useful in this case as a workaround, it is strange that the wpa_supplicant check only triggers when you enter Network Configuration once https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/535875-kubic-installation-requires-wpa_supplicant-which-is-not-in-repo
