This user was vocal about this on IRC, this is what happens:

* During installation, user can load metadata fine from online repositories
* using is being redirected to a bad mirror at 42%

He was instructed to install without online repositories which resolved his
situation. What this boils down to is a lack of functionality for retries in
the case of a a bad mirror, either automatically based on the mirror list  as a
client-side pick, or by entering a URL manually (which may not have been
entered correctly in this case)
