My first guess would have been a broken DVD, but you write that you checked it. Did you run the media check on the same computer where the installation failed? If not, please do so (the DVD drive might be broken/whatever). If that doesn't bring up a result, please attach the y2logs as described at http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Report_a_YaST_bug Since the system isn't bootable, you can just put /var/log in a tarball.
