Hm, I can't reproduce that on my Tumbleweed on x86_64.
Can you please provide information about your system?
And please paste output of:
$ execstack /usr/bin/gzip
and
$ readelf -S -W /usr/bin/gzip
and
$ ldd /usr/bin/gzip
