Hm, then this "error" seems to be harmless after all.

So, which login manager did you use before?
The problem seems to be there then.

And other questions that I have then:
You say that the image freezes after clicking "Login".
So is Plasma actually started at all?
That .xsession-errors-:0 you posted at the beginning may just as well be from a
successful login before.
Either check the file creation date, or remove it (after logging out, before
rebooting) to make sure it is up-to-date.

And does this also happen if you choose a different session at the login
screen, IceWM e.g.?
