Tumbleweed fails to boot on my Acer V5-122P netbook (AMD A6-1460 quad-core SOC
with Radeon HD 8250 GPU) since the upgrade to kernel 4.5; before that, with
kernel <= 4.4, it worked fabulously. Windows 10 and Leap are also installed on
the machine, and they both work flawlessly.
When booting normally, the machine just hangs with a black display, and the fan
running rather loudly. When booting in recovery mode, it becomes apparent that
the boot process starts normally after loading the kernel and inital ramdisk -
messages about units successfully started scroll by. However, after a few
seconds, error messages like this appear, scrolling by rapidly and endlessly:
** 23 printk messages dropped ** [ 57.753119] ACPI Error: No handler or method
for GPE 02, disabling event (20160108/evgpe-790)
Please tell me what to do to diagnose this problem - I'm at a loss.
