I'm sure Intel is aware of this issue. In about every bugzilla you can find this issue reported. Intel has revamped their driver and switched to atomic mode setting. It takes a while until things have stabilized. If you want, you can report this upstream on bugs.freedesktop.org, oddly, when I looked I didn't find a report there, yet. It could be that someone else beat you to it already by now (googleing for "../drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic.c:491" would be useful) I would help you on this but I'm currently too swamped. My plan is also to regularly release rpms with Intel's nightly snapshots. I've started to build an infrastructure but I'm not quite there, yet. This would give you the opportunity to test if the issue still exists in the latest bits.
