Yes, that would be possible but also has disadvantages. E.g. when you
use zypper to install packages and it creates snapshots you don't want
to additionally wait for the cleanup algorithm. So cleanup would have
to be asynchronous and still you would have more IO at that time.

The issue itself can be closed.
