In principle, I sympathize with that request. The only problem I see is the actual migration. There are, as far as I see, three options: 1.) Remove *-translations-common and/or *-translations-other without any automatic replacement 2.) Remove them, but install *all langpacks* as a replacement (even if only *-common was installed) 3.) Remove them, but install the corresponding langpacks for each package (e.g. all langpacks that are currently inside *-common, if *-common is installed) Option 1 is a breaking change, which I am (and more importantly, many customers) against. Option 2 makes matters worse for almost every user. Option 3 would have a neutral outcome, but the corresponding code to achieve this would be very ugly and hard/annoying to maintain.
