13.3 Working with Files and Directories https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/startup/html/book.opensuse.startup/cha.new.bash.html#sec.new.bash.fildir cd does not ���move up the file system tree���, it performs path magic. Example: after { cd /usr/tmp/..; }, you land in /usr, not in /var .
