I have a similar problem. 

It seems impossible to set the default gw of an openSUSE VM behind a VirtualBox
Host-Only network manually. Virtual-Box acts as dhcp-server, but has not the
possibility to push the default gateway via dhcp-option.

I disabled the function "set default route via dhcp" with yast. Setting the
default gw manually via yast is ignored.

Everything works if I set it on the command line with "route add default gw".

The system was upgraded from openSUSE 13.1 to leap 42.1 and then leap 42.2.
Under openSUSE 13.1 everything works as expected and under 42.1 and 42.2 not.
